Regional Vision for Non-Violence Coalition wrapped up Family Violence Awareness month with their second annual tea, Nov. 29th at the NexSource Centre.

Sylvan Lake’s Mayor Sean McIntyre and Eckville’s Mayor Helen Posti attended the tea to celebrate the Coalition’s second nomination for the Government of Alberta’s Inspiration Award along with councillors, members and partners of the Coalition.

The Coalition consists of the rural communities of Benalto, Bentley, Blackfalds, Bowden, Delburne, Eckville, Elnora, Innisfail, Lacombe, Rimbey, Rocky Mountain House, Stettler and Sylvan Lake. In addition the Coalition warmly welcomed three new communities; Clive, Caroline and Penhold.

Tea participants celebrated the grand openings of the Centres for Positive Relationships, spaces where information and resources to help prevent family violence are being made available in each community to the general public and to service providers.
