The solar ecplise was seen be people around North America, with a partial eclipse seen over Central Alberta. At the height of the eclipse, around 11:30 a.m. the moon covered an estimated 80 per cent of the sun. Those viewing the eclipse needed to do so with special glasses so as to not amage their retinas.
