SIMONOT, Denis Raymond
Denis Raymond Simonot, beloved husband of Pauline (née Phaneuf), passed away peacefully at his home in Sylvan Lake, AB, on February 26th, 2017, with his wife, children and grandchildren by his side. Denis was 73 years old.
Born in Cudworth, SK, Denis was the youngest child of Louis and Georgine Simonot and brother to Marcel (Albertine), Francois (Marie) and Yvette (Gus). Denis spent his childhood on the family farm in Bonne Madone, SK, before moving to Saskatoon, SK, to attend the University of Saskatchewan to fulfill his calling of becoming a teacher. Over the next several decades, Denis would go on to teach multiple generations of families in the Prince Albert area and forever impact the lives of countless young minds.
In 1967, Denis and Pauline married and began a life together that would span 50 years. Their legacy started in Prince Albert, where they would raise their four children together: Carlo, Danielle (Andrew Mack), Alain (Vanessa) and Renée (Nate Bean). Years later, they would move to Sylvan Lake, AB, to be closer to their seven grandchildren: Cierra, Leah, Emma-Leigh, Geneviève, Allyne, Brielle and Chantal.
Denis`s children and grandchildren were his proudest achievements. His happiest moments were spent surrounded by his family. The laughter of his grandchildren was the quickest way to get a big smile from grand-père – right until the end. Above all else, Denis was in awe of his wife for her unconditional love and tireless patience and support. He felt truly blessed to have such an amazing family.
