HENRY (nee Chisholm)

Norma Victoria

June 26, 1912 - May 19, 2015

Norma passed away peacefully at Michener Hill Extendicare six weeks shy of celebrating her 103rd birthday. Born in VanLeek Hill, Ontario, Norma and her parents, Bella and Donald and her sister Ola moved to Sedalia - Naco District near Youngstown, Alberta in 1918. They farmed there until 1936 when her dad then purchased a farm in the Antler Hill District near Red Deer. While working as a hairdresser in Edmonton, Norma met and married her soul mate Earnest in 1942. While Ernie was serving his country overseas, Norma plied her trade in Edmonton and Red Deer. Upon Ernie's return they resided in Waskatenau until moving to Red Deer with their son Butch in 1950. Norma worked at Builders Hardware. In 1966, Ernie's job took them to Vancouver where they lived until retiring in the Okanagan Valley. During these years Norma and Ernie enjoyed many summers travelling throughout western Canada, playing golf and visiting family and friends with their trailer in tow. Following Ernie`s passing, Norma returned to Red Deer where she stayed until her passing. Norma was an avid sports fan and faithfully followed her beloved Edmonton Oilers and Eskimos, never missing a game. She knew every player and coach and faithfully followed their careers. Norma is survived by her son Butch (Joanne), grandson Noah and his daughter Keja, brother Stan (Bonnie) Chisholm and her nieces and nephews. At Norma`s request, a private family remembrance will be held at a later date. Condolences may be sent or viewed at
