Dear Editor,
I am astonished that there is no handicapped parking in front of a specific medical clinic in Sylvan Lake.
When I approached the doctor about this, he said there was handicapped parking at one time and that the Town of Sylvan Lake decided it was not to be.
I had noticed this several times before, but when I had to walk three blocks to get parking when the concert on the beach was on, I physically felt it.
I feel terribly sorry for people who are much more disabled than me.
True, a car can stop outside of the clinic and tie up a four-way stop, or the vehicle could illegally double park to let patients in the clinic.
However, what happens to disabled drivers with canes, walkers, etc., who have to park great distances?
I hope this critical problem will be rectified.
