Red Deer West 4-H Beef Club is back with some great public speakers!
We held our public speaking competition on Feb. 2, and presentations were on Feb. 13.
The club competition results are juniors: first place - Kyle Belich, second – Davin Moore, and in third - Parker Depalme. In the intermediates: first place – Paulina Wolswinkel, second - Cole Moffatt, and third - Kolton Moore. For the seniors: first place - Dakota Townsend, second - Shannon Bickley, and third - Jenaya Moore.
Congratulations to all the members, you did well and all who participated brought out some tough competition.
In presentations, no juniors competed this year. In intermediate presentations: first was Kenzie Armitage and Breanna Burk. For seniors: first was Caelidh Johanson, second were Naomi Akkermans and Kaitlyn Schwab, and in third were Cody Schwab and Graham Bickley. Well done to all of you and we hope that you do well at regional presentations!
Zone public speaking took place Feb. 23 and our members placed extremely well. In juniors Kyle Belich placed first and Davin Moore was second. In intermediates Paulina Wolswinkel placed first. In the seniors division Dakota Townsend placed first and Shannon Bickley placed second.

Our club is now preparing for mock show which will take place at the Benalto Agricultural Rodeo Grounds on Apr. 26th. Members will take part in judging, fitting, and showing. This will be good practice for our regional year end show that runs May 31-June 2 at the Westerner Grounds.
