Sylvan Lake 4-H Multi-Club had its seventh meeting of its inaugural year on Mar. 30.

In March we started volunteering at Bethany. We enjoyed playing bingo and cooking with the seniors. We are planning to go there again to decorate Easter Eggs in April.

We are volunteering at Peavey Mart who will be donating the supplies for a BBQ. Money raised will go towards our club's operating budget. We are planning to buy a banner for our club so that we can participate in the 1913 Days parade.

We are working hard to complete our record books which are due next meeting. Our year-end Achievement Day will be on May 24 at 2 p.m. at École H. J. Cody School. Please come and see what we've accomplished or to learn more about our club if you have a child who would like to join next year.

We also made a video that had our members answer the question “Why 4-H is Great”. Some of the answers talked about the photography and cooking project that we were working on while others talked about how much they love 4-H camps.

One of our members is interested in the scholarship opportunities and many have enjoyed our volunteer endeavours. Leaders mentioned that they were glad to see their children developing their public speaking and record keeping skills.

Overall, our club seemed to be enthusiastic about the 4-H project. If we win the contest, we will win a Gord Bamford concert, so keep your fingers crossed.
