Enjoying buccaneer brownies and grog, a group of scallywags listened to a story read by children’s programmer Heather Parker during Pirate Day at Sylvan Lake Municipal Library Saturday afternoon.

Parker said they had 27 kids and 21 adults participate. They made swords, hooks, hats, treasure necklaces and telescopes, heard some great pirate stories and told a few pirate rhymes.
