A Sylvan Lake resident received a scholarship at Lakeland College’s donor and award recipient celebrations last month.
Jarrod Cohoe, who’s in the paramedic program, was recipient of the Jason Lang Scholarship.
During the current academic year, Lakeland College, with campuses in Vermilion and Lloydminster, will distribute 1,223 awards, scholarships and bursaries totalling $1,207,109 which is up over $150,000 from the previous year, said Kelly Sidoryk, communications specialist with the college.
Established in 1913, Lakeland College offers full-time, part-time and continuing education programs in academic upgrading, agricultural sciences, business, environmental sciences, fire and emergency services, health and wellness, human services, interior design technology, performing arts, trades and technology and university studies.
