Daryl Borchuk of Atco Gas presented a $2,000 cheque to Sylvan Lake Fire Department July 28, accepted by Fire Chief Cliff Brausen and Deputy Chief Steve Scanland. The donation is to support fire safety education programming offered by Sylvan Lake Fire Department.
The program is delivered to elementary school students. It addresses a variety of topics including escape plans and exit drills, matches and lighter safety, dialing 9-1-1 and emergency information, smoke detectors and firefighter gear.
Atco Gas is also provincial sponsor of the Alberta Fire Commissioner’s children’s program delivered to elementary schools across the province during Fire Safety Week in October.
