Engaging seniors, working at recreation events, tackling local issues cited

Following are nominees in the group category who were recognized during the Leaders of Tomorrow Awards ceremony last Friday.

Beyond the Hurt facilitators were presented with the Leaders of Tomorrow award for a group. The Red Cross program is focused on preventing bullying among children and youth. These École Fox Run School students were trained to facilitate the program by a team of family school wellness workers then shared their knowledge with younger students.

Following are nominees in the group category who were recognized during the Leaders of Tomorrow Awards ceremony last Friday.

Sylvan Lake Interact Club - includes Amber Carson, Jessica Beckwith, Kara Canning, Bobbi Cerin, Alyssa Cossuta, Kyndal Cutforth, Randi Derbyshire, Ann Duffy, Kaori Fujimoto, Kassidy Mason, Liam O`Callaghan, Tianna Oostindie, Keely Paton, Myia Rose, Callie Seib, Jordyn Shaw, Breanna Tait, Annika Vetter, Emily Vetter, Emma Villeneuve, Erica Villeneuve, Cassie Waters and Baylee White.

The club is a youth branch of Rotary International. The club is full of youth who want to join together to tackle issues in their community that they care most about. This group has been active in many local events, worked at making connections with exchange students from other countries and developing their leadership skills

Sylvan Lake Pathfinders youth group - includes Talia Galliford, Darion Hamilton, Megan Koch, Aiden Martin, Janaya Scott and Serena Scott

The Sylvan Lake Pathfinders group have been coming to Bethany once a month to assist with recreational events. They have made crafts, baked, decorated, sung songs, and visited with our residents. Thank you for your commitment to our seniors!

Fox Run Renaissance Group - includes Mona Atiila, Kristy Beck, Henna Bray, Kaitlyn Butt, Raine Curry, Jaggar Fifield, Sierra Hilman, Brea Ives, Abigail Judd, Jenna Lagoutte, Marisa Lee, Hannah Lynn, Mercedes MacLeod, Jaidra Russell and Madison Saunders.

Fox Run Renaissance group has been an outstanding help to the recreation, parks and culture division of the Town of Sylvan Lake. This amazing group of youth is always ready to help with town special events. Their smiles and great attitudes brighten any event as they help community children and families build crafts and play games. This group always shows selfless efforts and are a huge asset to our town.
