The students apart of WE Day at Ecole Fox Run School were recently presented with an award for their continued hard work.

The group won a Baking a Difference Award for their participation in WE Bake for Change.

Along with the award there students were awarded a sum of $2,500 to go towards their goal of raising funds for health initiatives in Kenya.

The group had initially set a goal of raising $1,500 for Kenya.

The added monetary award means the group has now officially exceeded their planned goal for the year.

Anna Polden, program manager with WE Schools, told the students through email of their award, and thanked them for the work they put into their goal and the WE Bake for Change event.

“Thank you again for sharing how [the] students took part in WE Bake for Change this year, and for sharing the impact that the campaign made on your school,” Polden wrote in an email to DeeAnn Daniels at Fox Run.

“I am so humbled to get to work with amazing youth and an educator so dedicate,” Polden said.

The students at Fox Run participated in the WE Bake for Change event last month, and were recently notified of the award.

According to Daniels, the WE Day group at Fox Run has been working towards the goal of raising $1,500 for Kenya as part of their WE Day Pledge under the pillar of health.
