Paul Ventura, owner of Canadian Tire, Sylvan Lake, accepted a cheque for the Jumpstart program from Don MacKenzie, president of Sylvan Lake Seniors Association.
The seniors collected $525.60 in donations during their two Christmas dinners and decided to donate the money to the Sylvan Lake Chapter of Jumpstart. Jumpstart is dedicated to removing barriers so children can participate in organized sport and recreation.
Ventura said the Sylvan Lake branch helped 129 youngsters in its first year.
