Many came out early Sunday morning for the Sunrise Worship on April 1. It was chilly out, with a fresh layer of snow, which had worshippers gathered around a fire pit to stay warm. Photo submitted by Anna Olive.

Sixty-five people braved the snowy conditions to walk from the Catholic Church through Sylvan Lake to Gospel Chapel Church (2.5 kms).

Prayers for the business sector, medical, community protection andeEnforcement, youth and schools as well as prayers for area churches and families/children were said.

The Good Friday Prayer Walk involves all the community churches.

The Prayer Walk which terminates at Gospel Chapel then hosted a Community Service.

Gospel Chapel lead over 400 people in worship. The Passion of Christ was read by members of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church. Several people brought a non-perishable food item for the Sylvan Lake Food Bank. A free will offering for Bibles for Grads and Community Partners was also taken.

Memorial Presbyterian Church Choir sang a Easter Hymn. Pastor Jonathon Nash of Frontline

Worship Centre brought a message of hope. No matter what you are going through, “Do Not Fear”. Jesus’s death on the cross gives everyone hope through His resurrection.
