During Sylvan Lake’s Centennial we’re attempting to quantify the generosity of our community with information and a running tally of donations to various groups and organizations.

We know how giving our community is and we want to emphasize that with this column. Please feel free to add to our list.

Year-to-date total – $209,353.06

• The Regency Flooring Drive “Fore” The Cure golf tournament held at Meadowlands Golf Club Aug. 16 raised $22,000 for Canadian Cancer Society and Red Deer Cancer Clinic.

• The community Terry Fox Run raised $2,465 on Sunday with 74 participants and 11 volunteers. Area schools will be holding their Terry Fox Runs later in the month.

• The second annual yard sale to benefit the building fund of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church raised over $10,000 during two days on the weekend.
