During Sylvan Lake’s Centennial we’re attempting to quantify the generosity of our community with information and a running tally of donations to various groups and organizations.

We know how giving our community is and we want to emphasize that with this column. Please feel free to add to our list.

Year-to-date total - $107,156.92

• Wendy Quick, on behalf of Alberta Automotive Recyclers and Dismantlers Association, presented a $250 cheque to Sylvan Lake Serenity Pet Shelter Society and $250 to Paws and Claws Animal Rescue Foundation, recently.

• The results of the Litre Log campaign are in, according to Jennifer Lemega of Sylvan Lake Community Partners Association. Fas Gas customers were able to donate their litre logs to the association and Fas Gas would match the total amount. As a result $370.29 in litre logs were donated over Our Caring Community a one week period and with Fas Gas’s contribution the association received $740.59.
