Many kids came out for the egg hunt over the weekend and were treated to many activities, including a bean bag toss. Many of the activities came with a treat for the kids to take home.

It may have been a little snowy, and a bit on the cold side over the Easter weekend, but that didn’t stop Sylvan Lake families from celebrating at the egg hunt.

The egg hunt at Ecole H.J. School was a fundraiser for the Sylvan Lake Spray Park. The gym was packed with families excited to partake in the numerous activities available in the gym.

For an hour children of many ages played games, jumped rope and made Easter-themed arts and crafts.

Two popular stops were balloon animals and face painting.

The event ended with a large scale egg hunt. Kids took over the school and the yard searching for brightly coloured eggs to fill their baskets.

To ensure everyone got a treat, kids were asked to take no more than five eggs.

The children were given an hour to find all the eggs, but most were found long before the time limit came.

Face painting, along with sparkle tattoos had some of the longest lines of the event as the children were eager to be made into Spider-Man or a unicorn.

Parents were on hand to help their kids out, as the snow sometimes made the plastic eggs a little difficult to handle with mittens.
