Taken a short time before the elevators were due to be destroyed, this picture is from 1997.
“I knew there was a freight train on certain days at a certain time so I set up shop and waited for it with the elevators as a backdrop,” wrote photographer Kent Lyle. “It captures a part of the historic story that the elevators and the trains played in the first 100 years of the Town of Sylvan Lake’s existence.”
