Sylvan Lake celebrated peace through the practice of Tai Chi at the pier on Sept. 30.

This free event was offered by Central Alberta Martial Arts & Wellness Centre and was available to all children, youth and adults in the community and beyond.

By practicing Tai Chi one feels a sense of peace, which then is readily shared with others that one comes in contact with. Peace must start within in order for it to ripple and spread without.

Although a small group participated, it was a beautiful event on the pier that set the wheels in motion for individual and communal peace and social initiative and change.
