The Cooperators in Sylvan Lake showed their appreciation for the community by hosting a free barbecue Thursday afternoon.
The free barbecue had hot dogs, hamburgers, cookies and drinks for anyone who stopped by between 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. on May 24.
It was a community-wide event, with donations coming from Plaza Liquor, Shoppers Drug Mart, Sobeys and Good Earth Coffeehouse.
Along with the free food, the event also acted as a fundraiser.
Raffle tickets were sold along side the barbecue for a door prize. The proceeds from the raffle tickets went towards the Sylvan Lake Spray Park.
The fundraising for the Sylvan Lake Spray Park is being pioneered by a committee in Sylvan Lake with the end goal of opening the spray park in Leader Field.
