Sylvan Lakers and guests gathered Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 to celebrate the beginning of the holiday season with the annual Light Up The Lake Celebrations.

There were many events that took place in town over the weekend for children of all ages to participate in.

The Spirit of Sylvan Yuletide Festival kicked the weekend off on Nov. 30 with the opening of the market, and continued until Dec. 1, with a kids zone and live entertainment on stage.

Santa was a busy guy on Dec. 1, making no less than three appearances in Sylvan Lake.

In the morning, families attended the sold out Breakfast with Santa event at the multi-campus facility.

Following that, Santa and his wife Mrs. Claus appeared at the Yuletide festival to hear the wishes of all the good boys and girls.

Finally Santa and Mrs. Claus capped off the annual Santa Claus Parade.

The parade did not end the weekend. After the last float was off in the distance, everyone gathered around the pier in Sylvan Lake Park to take in the spectacle of the fireworks show.

Immediately following the end of the firework show, the lights to the expanded Winter Village turned on to astound everyone.

The lights to the Winter Village will be one every night after the sun goes down, with bonfires and events planned through the winter.
