Sylvan Lake town council hosted their first Chatting with Council event on the evening of July 7.

Below is an excerpt of a letter from Gertrude Elliott of the Grey Glen cottage to the Sylvan Lake Archives. She describes the excitement of coming to the lake for the summer and opening up the cottage.

Main or 50th Street, now known as Centennial Street has changed it’s face many times since the early days. Muddy roads with horses and wagons were lined with wooden sidewalks. Anything a Laker might need to shop for was in those few blocks.

Eckville celebrated Canada’s 155 th birthday with a range of events on July 1.
