Eckville resident, Barbara Olsen won $250,000.

Eckville local Barbara Olsen recently won $250,000.

Olsen purchased her weekly Lotto Max and EXTRA ticket and then checked the numbers just after the draw.

Checking the numbers just after the draw wasn't something out of the ordinary for Olsen but what was different this time around was that she won $250,000 on the Sept. 13 EXTRA draw.

"I got excited and showed my brother," Olsen said.

"I waited a while to validate it in-store until the retailer I purchased it from was there to do it with me."

Currently, Olsen has some ideas for how she will spend her winnings.

"I'm planning to donate to the local museum that is being renovated. It used to be the first hospital here in Eckville. I’m also going to trade in my car for a new one," she said.

Olsen purchased her winning ticket from the Eckville Co-op Food Store.
