The Ecole Fox Run girl's volleyball team was undefeated in the final tournament of the season.

The Ecole Fox Run girl's volleyball team remained undefeated during the team's final end-of-year tournament.

Throughout the course of the season the team has grown tremendously, coaches Madison Lee and Cody Baker said.

"We had two returning players and the other ten were new to the Fox Run senior team. From the first practice, we could tell they were a strong group."

Even with a strong start each player still managed to improve in all areas by the finals tournament, Lee added.

"We had the girls focus on finding the positive in games and practices to help boost not only their skills but their self-esteem and confidence."

Getting involved in extracurricular activities is super important for kids, Lee said.

"There is something out there for everyone to get involved with. In volleyball, kids learn how to be a part of a team and work together as a unit. They learn so many interpersonal skills along with the volleyball skills."

Participating in extracurricular sports also helps to build a positive school culture, she added.

"Participating in extra-curricular sports helps to make students, staff, and the broader community proud to attend our school. We work on fostering a very positive environment for our students, we want them to learn resiliency, self-confidence, and how to support team building."

The coaching staff and school are incredibly proud of how the team did, Lee said.

"We are proud of our team for remaining undefeated and winning first place at the year-end tournament. The girls brought home the trophy and the banner to Fox Run."

This year's team was also the first team coached by Lee and Baker that went all the way to being league champions since Baer and Lee started teaching at Fox Run.

"The team did not lose one set of volleyball and there was a buzz in the air from other coaches talking about the girls and how impressed they were with the team," Lee said.

"The girls won with grace and never once looked down on other teams while playing. They used less competitive games to focus on improving skills instead of just sitting back and not taking it seriously. "

The community support has also meant a great deal to the team this year, Lee said.

"Parents, friends, and family were always there to watch and cheer us on when we needed it. We are extremely grateful to them for their support. Whether it be picking students up from games, helping clean up the gym after home games, or scorekeeping during tournaments."

For the girl's volleyball team, their season officially ended on Nov. 2 at the home finals tournament.

"These girls are just getting started and they are only going to get better. We can't wait to cheer them on in club, high school volleyball, and beyond," Lee said.
