A fourth vehicle has broken through the ice on Sylvan Lake.

The Sylvan Lake RCMP responded to a report of a vehicle that had broken through the ice and was mostly submerged into Sylvan Lake on Jan. 5 at 4:42 p.m. in the Marina Bay area.

"This area is especially at risk for vehicles going through the ice due to its proximity to a spring that feeds the lake," Cpl. Troy Savinkoff said.

During the incident, both of the vehicle's occupants were able to get out and were then checked by EMS.

Neither of the occupants were injured in the accident.

Plans are already in place to remove the vehicle from the lake.

Due to the recent incidents caused by ice safety issues, the RCMP does not recommend people taking vehicles onto the lake.
