SPARC dancers have qualified to be in the Danceworks Grand Champion Showdown from June 7-9 at RDP. The studio qualified after getting a platinum award and top 10/ top 5 awards at previous competitions in April and May.

Local dancers from Sylvan's Perform Arts and Rhythm Centre (SPARC) studio will compete in the Grand Champion Showdown.

SPARC dancers qualified for the competition after receiving a platinum award and being in the top 10 or top 5 in previous Danceworks/CADF competitions in April and May.

The SPARC dancers have worked all year dancing two to three nights a week and on weekends since September to prepare, treasurer of the SPARC parent association Alexandra Dryland said.

"All the dancer's hard work and dedication is very apparent with the number of routines that qualified for the competition."

Out of the studio's 38 routines, 35 of the routines including groups, solos and duets made it to the Grand Champion Showdown.

"Miss Megan Maisonneuve, the Studio Director, and the rest of the staff at SPARC are excited to be a part of the Danceworks/CADF Grand Champion Showdown and wish all the dancers the best of luck," the studio staff said.

The Danceworks/CADF Grand Champion Showdown Challenge will be held from June 7-9 at Red Deer Polytechnic.
