Stage two water restrictions are officially lifted in Sylvan Lake.
As of July 29, the town will be returning to regular water conservation efforts.
"Thanks to all the Lakers protecting our water. Your efforts have kept us out of stage three restrictions and allowed us to return to regular water conservation," Town of Sylvan Lake staff said.
While stage two water restrictions are over, it is still important to conserve water.
Regular water conservation rules include:
- A watering ban for all homes every day from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- All homes need to turn off water if it is running into the street or sewer system
- Odd-numbered homes: water lawn, garden, or yard only on odd-numbered days
- Even-numbered homes: water lawn, garden, or yard only on even-numbered days
- Any home may water by hand with a water jug on any day of the week at any time
- Individuals with new sod or seed may water on any day of the week at any time
Water conservation is not a restriction, town staff said.
"Conservation is an annual water-saving program that started in 1996. Conservations helps to reduce wasteful water use and is not triggered by water shortages, droughts, or emergencies."
