Sylvan Lake stand-up comedian Bobby Warrener is planning on doing an Alberta Tour.

During his Alberta tour, stops are currently planned for Edmonton, Calgary, Old, Brooks, Forestburg and many other small towns.

For Warrener, performing comedy has been a lifelong dream.

“Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to be a comedian. I thought maybe first it would be writing, but then once I tried stand-up, it became obvious to me that it was what I wanted to do,” he said.

Warrener, who grew up in Sylvan Lake, sometimes uses his experience of living in the community in his comedy.

“Growing up in Sylvan has inspired my comedy. I have a ton of jokes about growing up in Sylvan/Alberta in general. Then I also have jokes about my Dad who lives in Sylvan,” he said.

Recently, his debut comedy album Ready To Die Too which was released on Oct. 27 has also been getting more coverage via the radio.

“It has been playing on the radio and clips I have filmed have been doing pretty well online,” Warrener said.

Ready To Die Too features a variety of content.

“The album is a mix of things that I had written up until that point with a focus on my family, relationships, and mental health,” he said.

“The album is a snapshot of where I was at the time in my career and now I’m trying to tell more stories.”

During the tour, however, nothing from the album will be used in the stand-up act.

“Once I put it out, I typically stop doing it,” Warrener said.

Instead, for the tour, Warrener is working on something brand new.

“I am working on an act currently, and then when I am actually on tour, I always try to incorporate a few different things every night by talking to the crowd or mentioning things about the town I’m in,” he said.

“I try to keep it a little different so that it’s special to come out and see it live.”

To continue his comedy career Warrener is planning a move to New York.

“I hope the move provides a boost in my career of doing stand-up.”

More information about the tour will be made available on Warrener’s Instagram , @bobbywarrener.
