The Sylvan Lake Gulls will be kicking off the regular season with their home opener on May 29 against the Energy City Cactus Rats.

The home opener will have a 'Sea of Gold' theme, Founder and CEO Jen Schetzsle said.

"We like to kick off the season with a recognizable, traditional flavour for Gulls fans. Gold represents prosperity, strength, and achievement. It also symbolizes victory and triumph. It brings great excitement for the organization when our fans are “cloaked” in gold, showing their support and excitement for the season to finally begin after a long winter."

During the upcoming season, fans will see some new and some familiar faces on the team.

"Coach Chatwood, along with Matt Hape and Wyatt McKnight, will all be returning for the fourth year. Together, they have put together an on-field product sure to compete," Schetzsle said.

"The Gulls will also have such notables as Maddy Fung, Josh Tucker, Gavin Galenza, and Jackson Zanoli take the field for the 2025 season."

Fans this year have many things to look forward to about the upcoming 2025 season, including some new and fan-favourite returning theme nights.

"Swiftie fans keep your eyes peeled for the Eras Tour- Taylor Swift Night, where you can come out and immerse yourselves in Swiftie food and drink specials and so much more," she said.

More information on the different theme nights can be found on the Sylvan Lake Gulls website and by looking at the team's schedule.

Another change fans can expect involves the food and beverages that will be available.

"Gulls fans will once again be wowed by a new variety of traditional ballpark fare. With new additions, such as mini donuts, corn on the cob, steak bites, and tantalizing ballpark pizza," Schetzle said.

The Gulls' ticketing department has also worked on solutions for the seat shortage.

"With our new ticket turn-back option, there are usually reserved seats opening up on game day. Regardless, we will always work on accommodating people, as we do have many seating options available."

Every year, the Gulls offer in-season and off-season activities.

"Gulls Give Foundation hosts a golf tournament, and we are always looking for passionate and eager volunteers for this.  We also rely on volunteers to sell 5050s for the foundation's mental health initiatives on game days."

The Gulls are also always looking for potential billets for players and coaches, she added.

"If you are interested in any of these opportunities, let us know at info@sylvanlakegulls.com."
