The Sylvan Lake Home Town Trade Show is returning for the first time since 2019.

The Trade Show features both local retailers and various professionals offering a diverse range of services.

Currently, more than 20 vendors are set to attend the event.

The event will provide an opportunity for community members to get to know what businesses and services are available to them, said Regional Publisher of Sylvan Lake News Barb Pettie.

“Shopping local and supporting our local economy helps everyone in the community thrive. Not only do you get to enjoy the convenience of shopping close to home, but you also know your money is staying right here in Sylvan Lake, supporting your friends and neighbours.”

While admission to the event is free, bringing a non-perishable food bank donation for the Sylvan Lake Community Food Bank is encouraged, Pettie said.

“While we often think of the food bank during the holiday months, they’re in desperate need of donations all year to support those in need within our community.”

The Sylvan Lake News and the Town of Sylvan Lake are both looking forward to the return of the Trade Show.

“I encourage all Lakers to join us at the Home Town Trade Show. It’s a fantastic opportunity to support our local businesses and connect with our community. Get to know more about the wonderful businesses that Sylvan Lake has to offer,” Mayor Megan Hanson said.

Any chance or opportunity the Town of Sylvan Lake has to engage with the public is a valuable one, communications officer Jared Waldo added.

“Being able to set up at the Trade Show to share important information about upcoming projects and initiatives allows us to keep Lakers informed on a more intimate basis.”

The Trade Show will be taking place at the NexSource Centre Curling Rink on April 5 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. and April 6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Free parking is available on site and a concession will be open both days.

More information on the event can be found on the Trade Show Facebook page or by contacting the Sylvan Lake News office at 403-887-2331.
