Pitch-in week is coming to Sylvan Lake from April 29 to May 5

The annual program, put on by the town, encourages community members to do what they can to help keep Sylvan clean.

“Every little bit goes a long way to help keep our community brilliant all year,” communications officer Jared Waldo said.

Waldo noted that in the years the town has run the program, it has proven to be very successful

“We get great participation numbers each year, and often have sports teams, user groups, churches, or even individual families who all contribute to the effort,” Waldo said.

“Pitch-in week brings together the community and highlights the importance of how it takes all Lakers to keep Sylvan Lake clean today, and in the future.”

Anyone interested in helping out and would like free garbage bags and pick up can register online, or call Public Works at 403-887-2800.

“We want to make it as easy as possible for residents, which is why we arrange to provide bags to residents, as well as pick up the bags after they’ve been filled,” Waldo said.

More information on pitch-in week is available on the Town’s website.
