Sylvan Lake Wranglers reign supreme during their last home games

On the teams Friday game the Wranglers won 4-0 and on their Saturday game they won 7-2

The Sylvan Lake Wranglers reigned supreme during their weekend home games against the Coaldale Copperheads and the High River Flyers.

During their home game against the Copperheads on Friday, Jan. 10, the Wranglers won 4-0.

The Wranglers opened the scoring in the first period when Tyler Gyori scored, followed later in the period by another goal by Wranglers Xaiden Bignell.

 Gyori scored his second of the night in the second period, and Justin Gyori also added a tally in the frame.

 Heritage Junior B Hockey League leading netminder Kaden Toussaint stopped all 17 shots he faced for his 8th shutout of the year.

During the home game on Saturday, Jan. 11, the Wranglers beat the Flyers 7-2

Similar to the game on Friday, the Wranglers opened the scoring in the first period with Maddex Bignell, Aydden Shaw, and Josh Perrault all scoring goals.

In the second, the Flyers tried to make their comeback, with Ethan Burgeson scoring the first goal of the period, followed by another goal scored by Issac Cayetano.

However, during the second, the Wranglers couldn't be stopped, with Riley Teulon and Tyler Gyori putting the puck in the net. 

Then, in the third, the Wranglers continued to dominate, with Bret Gerrits and Bignell scoring. 

Brock Lott made 20 saves to earn the win in net for Sylvan Lake. 

Up next for the Wranglers on Jan.16 is a home game against the Airdrie Techmation Thunder at the NexSource Centre starting at 8 p.m. 

The team will return the next day for another game at home against the Three Hills Thrashers. 

On Sunday, Jan. 19, the Wranglers are hitting the road to take on the Rocky Rams at the Rocky Arena.
