The Town of Sylvan Lake wants to remind residents that their utility bills and property taxes still need to be paid during the Canada Post strike.

While there hasn't been a problem so far, the Town wanted to send out a reminder in case people have been waiting for their bills to arrive in the mail, communications officer Jared Waldo said.

"Due to the strike, we're unable to send them out, so we wanted to remind residents so that they don't get forgotten."

To access their bills, residents can visit the Municipal Government Building or sign up for the town's e-billing program to have their bills delivered electronically.

"If people are interested in signing up for e-billing, they just need to call and talk to a member of our finance team to get signed up. It's a really simple process and it makes things that much easier. Plus, the less the Town has to mail out, the more we save on paper and postage, so it's definitely the best option for residents," Waldo said.

Bills can be paid at the Municipal Government Building or over the phone.

Penalties for unpaid or late payments will not be waived.
