The Okotoks Dawgs were crowned West Division champions on Tuesday night at Gulls Stadium with a 10-4 victory over the Sylvan Lake Gulls in Game 3.

The Dawgs piled on 10 runs on 17 hits meanwhile the Gulls only mustered six hits in the loss, most of which came in the first inning.

The Gulls got on the board first in the opening inning with two runs batted in by Elijha Hammill and Gavin Galenza on back-to-back at-bats.

It took some time but the Dawgs bats came alive in the fourth inning.

Their first run came on a single by Alejandro Cazorla followed by a double later in the inning by Ricardo Sanchez that brought in three runs.

Jarrett Burney, Caleb Lumbard, and Connor Crowson also knocked in four more runs to complete an eight-run inning for the Dawgs.

Starting pitcher Josh Tucker was replaced by Zach Bowman in the fourth inning after allowing six runs on nine hits.

However, Bowman couldn't complete the inning after he allowed two runs on three hits. He was replaced by Olemedo Quezada who got the final out of the frame.

Quezada got pulled the next inning after giving up an additional two runs off the bats Brendan Luther and Sanchez to lead 10-2. Ben Bohlmann came to the mound in relief and got the final two outs to stop the bleeding.

Tyler Alm and Ramses Guerra closed the game on the mound for the Gulls in the final two innings after Bowman pitched two and two-third innings.

Jason Green hit a two-run home run to make things interesting in the ninth inning but the Dawgs held on for the win.

This marked the thirs year in a row the Gulls fell to the Dawgs in the West Final. The Dawgs will now play the Moose Jaw Miller Express later this week in the league championship.
