The Sylvan Lake Collector Car Auction kicks off May 23 at 6 p.m. with a free gala, live music, food and fun! Setting the tone for what promises to be an unforgettable weekend.

The engines are revving, the guitars are being tuned, and all eyes are on Sylvan Lake as EG Auctions prepares to host its biggest automotive event of the year. The Third Annual Sylvan Lake Collector Car Auction returns Saturday, May 24, bringing with it a blockbuster lineup of rare vehicles, top-tier entertainment and a brand-new Friday night gala to set the tone for an unforgettable weekend.

This year marks a new chapter for the popular Central Alberta event, as EG Auctions unveils its Collector Cars & Country Stars gala on Friday, May 23 at 5 p.m. The evening promises live music, food, drinks, and both live and silent auctions – all hosted at EG’s five-acre indoor facility at 3 Industrial Drive  currently undergoing a complete renovation. Upgrades include a refurbished auction arena, black carpet flooring, new signage and a stage capable of showcasing both classic cars and live performances.

“We’re super excited about this event. It’s the first time we’re bringing in this level of entertainment alongside the cars,” says Todd Schwindt, owner of EG Auctions.

The gala will feature performances by Brody Siebert, Brock Andrews and Devin Cooper – all well-known names on Canada’s country music scene. Entry is free for guests 18 and older, and the night will include charity auctions with 3 signed Fender guitars and other exclusive memorabilia, with proceeds supporting a local cause.

Of course, the real show happens on Saturday, when the auction block goes live at 11 a.m. Among the standout consignments are two blue-chip collector cars drawing serious buzz: a 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, finished in rare calypso coral and valued at approximately $750,000; and a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle 454 SS LS5 Convertible, a matching-numbers, six-figure showpiece finished in cranberry red.

“These are the highest-end collector cars you can get,” Schwindt says. “They’re investment-grade, blue-chip collectibles you just don’t see come up for sale in Canada very often.”

The auction runs rain or shine, entirely indoors and EG Auctions is still accepting consignments. Interested sellers are encouraged to act quickly to secure a spot in what’s shaping up to be one of the year’s most talked-about automotive events.

Advanced bidding starts online at 10 a.m. on May 19 while in person bidding takes place on May 24! Bidders are encouraged to sign up via EG Auction’s website.
