A 15 year old male has been charged in connection with an armed robbery at Bayshore Market on Lakeshore Drive.
Sylvan Lake RCMP Cpl. James Allemekinders reported they arrested the person responsible last Thursday (Mar. 6) without incident, following assistance from the public.
The youth, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been charged with robbery using a firearm, pointing a firearm and using a firearm while committing an indictable offence.
He was remanded in custody and will make his next court appearance today (Thursday) in Red Deer Youth Justice Court.
The robbery took place shortly after 10 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 28. In a previous news release, Allemekinders said the male entered the store brandishing a hand gun, demanded cash and left after receiving an undisclosed amount of money. No one was hurt during the robbery.
