CulinART returns to celebrate Sylvan Lake’s rich culinary and art scene, offering an evening full of local art displays, bites, beverages, and music.

The event will take place on Sept. 10 between 6 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., with culinary stations and art stops located along 50 St., Lakeshore Drive and 46 St.

Piper McArthur, the Special Events Coordinator for Recreation, Culture and Tourism for the Town of Sylvan Lake shared, “We know that people everywhere are craving connection and new experiences, so we’re looking forward to hosting a memorable evening for everyone involved.” McArthur added, “We are excited to be working with new restaurants and returning culinary providers this year! The artists featured at the event are truly local to the Sylvan Lake area and we’re looking forward to having them showcase their amazing talents along the downtown walking route.”

McArthur shared that a total of 11 restaurants and 5 artists will partake in this event, while advising all attendees to follow public health measures throughout the event. “As an outdoor walking tour experience, CulinART is one of our annual events that can be more easily adapted to fit evolving health measures. The Town of Sylvan Lake staff continues to monitor the situation closely and will encourage participants to follow all public health orders in effect at the time of the event.”

The streets will be rejuvenated with art installations, display paintings or photographs, live caricature sketch artist and art available for sale along the boardwalk, accompanied by a variety of cuisines to choose from. Event admissions and tickets can be purchased at the NexSource Centre at 4823-49 Avenue, or online at https://bit.ly/3l1rrJq. The CulinART event is conducted by Alberta Culture Days, a subsection of Canada’s Culture Days organization that aims to highlight the importance of arts and culture in communities nationwide through the delivery of numerous free participatory arts and culture events. “Part of Alberta Culture Days, CulinART brings together the members of the Sylvan Lake restaurant community with local artists and visual creators for a one-of-a-kind experience! It has become an annual event that locals and visitors truly enjoy,” shared McArthur.

Visitors are advised to park at the NexSource Centre parking lots, purchase tickets as required, and head down the route along 50 (Centennial) Street to experience the food, art and atmosphere of this fun-filled event.
