At approximately 2:30 p.m. Monday afternoon a suspect entered Bayshore Market demanding the person working the cash register place all of the money into a bag. The person behind the register, a co-owner of the establishment, refused to hand over the money at which time the suspect fled on foot.
The other co-owner of Bayshore Market then pursued the unarmed suspect and witnessed the suspect get into an older model four door Toyota Corolla. The owner of the store reported the incident to Sylvan Lake RCMP.
The RCMP were later able to find both the suspect and the Corolla at Esso in Sylvan Lake. Reports indicate the alleged suspect is now in custody however Sylvan Lake RCMP have yet to confirm.
It is also unknown at this time if the suspect was involved in the previous robberies over the past 30 days. More details will be released as they are known.
