Building under construction vandalized over long weekend

Saturday, May 19th

1:39 a.m. - A male is facing a charge of mischief under $5,000 following an incident on Herder Drive in Sylvan Lake. The male threw a skateboard through a window at a residence and was acting out of control before he was arrested by police. Drugs were a factor.

Sunday, May 20th

2:35 a.m. - RCMP laid a charge of cocaine possession after a check on a vehicle parked behind Subway on Lakeshore Drive. The member approached the group of three males and two females and observed some cocaine all over the console of the vehicle. One male was arrested at the scene and the others detained for questioning.

3:45 a.m. - A male is charged with breach of an undertaking and possessing liquor in an open container after he was spotted by police outside the Hazzard County Bar. The male was on conditions not to consume alcohol in relation to an existing assault charge out of Rocky Mountain House.

12:56 p.m. - RCMP are investigating mischief to a vehicle parked on 50th Avenue. A beer bottle was thrown from a moving vehicle, which smashed through the back window of a parked truck, ending up on the dash. The bottle was seized as evidence.

8:39 p.m. – Police were called to a fight between two males at Fireside Lounge in Sylvan Lake. One male attempted to intervene and was struck by a pool cue. One of the males involved in the fight fled the scene. The remaining individuals did not wish to proceed with charges.

Monday, May 21st

1:27 a.m. - A taxi driver called in a complaint of a fight outside Chiefs Pub and Eatery on Lakeshore Drive. Approximately two or three males were involved in the altercation on the street in front of the bar but fled the area before police arrived.

7:11 p.m. - RCMP are investigating a residential break-in on Westview Drive in Sylvan Lake. Six guns were stolen, all of them registered. A gun safe was broken into via tools taken from the garage.

Tuesday, May 22nd

7:00 a.m. - A building under construction on 46th Street in Sylvan Lake was broken into and vandalized sometime over the long weekend. Access was gained after a window on the second floor was smashed out. Approximately 40 holes were punched or kicked into the new drywall.
