Car wash planned as first youth job creation project

A summer car wash is the first ‘job creation project’ being organized by the town’s Youth Employment Office.

A summer car wash is the first ‘job creation project’ being organized by the town’s Youth Employment Office.

It will take place Friday, July 5th from 11:30-3:30 p.m. in the community centre’s newly paved parking lot.

“We believe that youth are a valuable asset to Sylvan Lake and the business community and we want to ensure that any employment opportunity is made available to them,” said Krista Carlson, youth services coordinator. The projects are being organized so “youth with little to no job experience can participate in events and activities that will give them the opportunity to gain skills and earn some income over the summer”.

Young people who would like to get involved are asked to go to the Youth Employment Office on the main floor in the community centre to fill out a registration form and sign up to be part of the event.
