Sylvan Lake RCMP solved several crimes after receiving a call about a broken down orange Dodge Challenger on Rainy Creek Road last Wednesday.
Two people have been arrested and are facing numerous charges.
RCMP responded to a suspicious vehicle complaint about 1:10 p.m. last Wednesday in the area of Range Road 31 and Rainy Creek Road. The caller reported seeing two suspicious males with the vehicle. One of them was observed breaking into a barn on an adjacent property and stealing a dirt bike, according to Cpl. James Allemekinders.
It was determined the Challenger has been stolen from Blackfalds that morning and was later involved in a gas and dash and assault at Sylvan Lake ESSO.
Police took one male into custody at the car. A short time later, with assistance of Lacombe County Patrol and Blackfalds RCMP, the second male was arrested with the stolen dirt bike in the area of Aspelund Road and Range Road 283.
Police also recovered a small amount of jewellery believed to have possibly been stolen in a recent break and enter. If you suspect the jewellery may be yours, please contact Sylvan Lake RCMP at 403-858-7200.
