Black smoke billowed from a relatively new red Ford F150 pickup truck that was destroyed by fire after becoming stuck in a vacant field and igniting tall grass east of Walmart and north of Lighthouse Pointe, Sunday evening. Firefighters were quick to respond to the fire and managed to contain burning grass around the truck to a small area.
A fire ban continues in Sylvan Lake, Lacombe and Red Deer counties and some of the summer villages.
