Dills named Rotarian of the Year

When it came to selecting a Rotarian of the Year, this year’s recipient was an “obvious choice”

Steve Dills was presented Rotary Club of Sylvan Lake’s 2013-2014 Rotarian of the Year award by outgoing president Marla Maher Friday night.

When it came to selecting a Rotarian of the Year, this year’s recipient was an “obvious choice”, according to outgoing president Marla Maher. She presented it to Steve Dills during Rotary Club of Sylvan Lake’s annual Presidential Turnover Cruise Friday night.

“(Dills) really is a true Rotarian,” she said, lauding Dills’ work not only with the Rotary, but also with other organizations such as the Legion, Hockeyville and Spirit of Sylvan Yuletide Festival. “He’s probably busier than anyone on the planet, and you never hear him complain.”

When it comes to fulfilling the club’s commitment to truth, fairness, goodwill, and friendship, Dills ticks all the boxes, and exemplifies the club’s ‘service above self ’ motto, said Maher.

“Steve is the absolute epitome of this, not just through Rotary, but everything he does in the community.”

Up-to-date Information on the club is available on the Rotary Club of Sylvan Lake Facebook page.
