The town has revamped its former Enviro Expo. The new event features interactive and exciting opportunities to learn and make a difference, said a town media release. The 22 participants offer everything from local shopping to tips on backyard gardening and wildlife awareness. An electronics round-up is available to all residents interested in properly disposing of unwanted computers and other devices. Sylvan Lake Business Solutions has offered to erase hard drives free of charge.

A new feature is a local lunch which takes place from 5-7 p.m., according to Joanne Gaudet, the town’s communications coordinator. “A full sit down dinner is planned with chili, garden salad, rolls and sweets. The lunch is entirely prepared locally, using a 100 km. radius around Sylvan Lake to gather food. Dinner is $5 per person and proceeds will go to Growing Green Neighbours, the community’s gardening group.
