During their regular meeting Dec. 10, Sylvan Lake councillors:
• were informed Jan. 16 has been set as the date for an introductory session and table-top exercise for the town’s Emergency Response Plan.
Now that the plan and Municipal Emergency Management bylaw have been passed, the need for planned exercises to get Emergency Coordination Centre staff familiar with the plan and roles is necessary, according to a report by John Eastwood, Director Disaster Services.
A functional table-top exercise will be held sometime in April or May and an enhanced functional exercise sometime in October or November.
