Sylvan Lake firefighters are going to be practising with a controlled house burn on Saturday.
They‘ll be training on property at the southeast corner of Highway 20 and 47th Avenue south of Boston Pizza.
“Firefighters and fire apparatus will be on scene for the duration of the burn,” said Fire Chief Cliff Brausen. “Motorists and residents are advised NOT to contact emergency services, as this is a controlled burn training exercise.”
Following are calls responded to by Sylvan Lake ‘s volunteer firefighters, during the week ending May 5.
Tuesday, Apr. 29 - 2:21 p.m. - barn and grass fire, C & E Trail, mutual aid with Red Deer County.
Thursday, May 1 - 3:55 p.m. - medical assistance, Norglenwold.
Thursday, May 1 - 6:09 p.m. - grass fire, off Memorial Trail in Beacon Hill subdivision.
