#3 washroom no longer viable

With snow falling last Thursday, a track hoe from Calfort Enterprises Demolition crashed through the roof of the #3 washroom at the end of 38th Street in Sylvan Lake Provincial Park. By the time the machine was loaded onto a lowboy and moved away, the site was cleaned up and bare of any structure.

“The province assessed the building and determined the structure, internal fixtures and underground infrastructure to be worn out and repairs no longer viable,” said the town’s CAO Betty Osmond in a report to councillors at their Dec. 9 meeting.

“The washroom will not be replaced as the existing number of washrooms in Sylvan Lake Provincial Park and the town’s Centennial Park are believed to be sufficient for visitors using the area.”
