Following Sylvan Lake’s success in the Kraft Hockeyville competition, the Sylvan Lake News is preparing a commemorative section which will provide history of the arena, the Hockeyville journey and information about the new complex being planned now.
We’d like to solicit historic pictures of the arena and the town’s hockey teams to include in this section, said editor Steve Dills. Your stories would also be welcome.
Working with the Sylvan Lake Hockeyville committee, we’re also planning to capture some of the information and photos which have been posted to the group’s Facebook page.
As well, we’d welcome your ideas on what should be included in this historic section which takes us from the inception of an indoor ice surface in the late 1960s and early 1970s through to today.
