Investigation underway after youth assaulted while walking dog on Wildrose Dr.

Damage - A firefighter and a peace officer examined the damage of a truck that landed upright after rolling over into the ditch on Highway 11 near Benalto Mar. 21. The lone occupant of the vehicle was taken away by ambulance with unidentified injuries. RCMP continued to investigate following the incident

Saturday, March 22nd

1:28 a.m. – RCMP responded to an attempted break and enter at a residence on 50th Avenue in Sylvan Lake. A suspicious male and female were witnessed at a residence while a neighbour was doing a property check. Members attended the scene and arrested a male after a search resulted in a quantity of drugs seized. A 38-year-old Red Deer male is facing a charge of drug possession.

10:32 p.m. – An abandoned 911 call was placed to RCMP from Hockey Central Sports Lounge in Sylvan Lake. Three patrons were reportedly intoxicated and causing a disturbance in the bar. They were requested to leave and eventually complied without incident. They were not believed to be driving. Patrols in the area did not result in any arrests.

Sunday, March 23rd

3:18 a.m. – A traffic stop was conducted at the intersection of Highway 20 at 47th Avenue in Sylvan Lake. The driver of a vehicle was observed by officers running a red light. The 36-year-old male driver, a resident of Fort McMurray, has been charged with impaired driving, driving while disqualified, and refusing to provide a breath sample.

Monday, March 24th

9:15 a.m. – A domestic dispute on Hillman Way in Sylvan Lake has resulted in an assault charge being laid against a 35-year-old male. A female contacted RCMP to advise that she had been assaulted by her spouse. Two children were in the residence at the time but were not injured.

5:24 p.m. – RCMP received a report of a stolen vehicle from outside a business in Sylvan Lake. Police were called to Rona at Hewlett Park Landing after an employee advised that someone had taken the keys to his vehicle while he was at work and stole the vehicle from the parking lot. An investigation is ongoing.

Wednesday, March 26th

3:47 p.m. – A 16-year-old male youth reported being physically assaulted while walking his dog on Wildrose Drive in Sylvan Lake. The male advises that he was punched in the head and beat along his back. He reports that he was hit from behind and that the males were scared off by his dog. He sustained minor injuries. RCMP are investigating the matter.
