A man is dead following an ATV collision near Bentley over the weekend.

A man is dead following an ATV collision near Bentley over the weekend.

Sylvan Lake RCMP were dispatched to the scene of the single-vehicle collision north of town on Range Road 12 early Saturday morning, where they found an ATV lying in the ditch.

Its driver wasn’t immediately located, but was eventually found severely injured about 100 metres away.

RCMP carried out CPR until EMS and members of Bentley District Fire Department arrived.

Al Tudhope, 55, of Lacombe County, was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after.

A helmet was found near Tudhope when RCMP arrived. He was believed to have been wearing it during the incident.

RCMP are continuing to investigate.
